Delete your wabetune account
How to have your wabetune account deleted, what is erased and what is kept.
This page is about the account of wabetune, the intonation app, on the web at wabetune.com and on Google Play, where its developer is listed as Wabetune.
How to ask
Write to hello@wabetune.com from the address you sign in with, and say that you want your account deleted. Writing from that address is how we know the request is yours: we do not ask for anything else. If you no longer use that address, say so, and we will find another way to confirm it.
We delete it within thirty days, usually much sooner, and answer when it is done.
Removing the app from your phone, or signing out, does not delete the account: your sessions stay on our server, ready for the next device you sign in on.
What is erased
- your account: your email address, and with Google also your name and the identifier of your Google account;
- every sign-in: the record of each device you signed in on;
- the sessions you played and the chord progressions you saved, with everything in them;
- if we gave you the paid plan without a payment, the note of why.
What is kept, and for how long
- The record of a payment, if you bought Pro: its identifier, amount, currency and date, or, bought on Google Play, its order number, state and date. The law requires accounting records to be kept, for ten years in Italy. It no longer leads to an account.
- A diagnostic report you sent from the settings, if any: it carries the identifier of your account and is deleted ninety days after it was sent, like every other. To have it deleted sooner, quote its code in the same email.
- A message you sent us from the settings: it is in our mailbox, not on our server. Ask in the same email and we delete it too.
What is on your device
What the app keeps on your phone or computer — your settings, and the sessions of a device that never signed in — is not on our server and is not ours to delete. Signing out empties the archive on that device once everything has reached the server; deleting wabetune.com's data in your browser removes the rest (the app from Google Play keeps its data in Chrome, so it is Chrome's site settings that do it).
Deleting only some of it
You do not need to delete the account to delete a session. Right after it ends, Discard at the foot of its report throws it away; later, a note can be taken out of a session opened from Stats, and a session left with no notes is gone. While you are signed in, what is thrown away is erased from our server too, leaving only a marker with its identifier and date, so that another of your devices does not bring it back.
The privacy policy, at https://wabetune.com/privacy/, has the rest: what we keep, why, and your other rights.
